Canal Partner was founded by Jaimie Pickles in July 2008.  From 1987 to 1999, Mr. Pickles was a Managing Consultant at Tillinghast-Towers Perrin.  He was President and COO at InsWeb Corporation where he served from 1999 through June 2008.

Mr. Pickles holds the CPCU and ARM industry designations, a B.S. from the University of Tennesse and an MBA from the University of Chicago.

Over the years, Mr. Pickles has developed relationships and gained the trust of many of the top insurance carriers in the industry such as Allstate, AIG, Amica, GEICO, Progressive, Travelers, American Family, Farmers, Nationwide, Liberty Mutual and MetLife Auto & Home.

Our Business

Canal Partner invests in new companies that deliver unique online marketing solutions aimed at the online insurance consumer and the insurance industry. 

Canal Partner also works exclusively with newer, but established, companies that are still venture capital or private equity backed.  By partnering with a client's business development function, Canal Partner helps navigate the insurance industry to grow revenues in this important vertical. 

Canal Partner structures client engagements on a revenue and equity share basis.  As a result, there is no incentive to manufacture activities and meetings simply to generate billable hours. 

This approach truly aligns all interests.  It also reinforces the trust and credibility established over the years in the industry, as insurance companies are assured to be presented only with sound opportunities to improve their business.
